Mitsubishi are known for producing some of the best engineered and reliable cars around and with this Carisma you get one of the best petrol engine around - the revolutionary direct injection 1.8 litre GDi. It comes with stamped service history (7 stamps) with services at 1,073 miles, 4,060 miles, 18,522 miles, 26,214 miles, 35,307 miles, 47,292 miles and 54,219 miles. The mileage shown at present is 104,000 and with the service history and all the old MOT certificates, it is fair to assume this is the true mileage.
It is completely original (except for the radio cassette a Philips face off radio cassette unit) and everything works correctly with the exception of the driver’s door lock which does not activate the central locking although it is activated by the central locking operated for example from the passenger door – should be fixed soon. It has air conditioning, a stereo radio/cassette unit, electric windows all round, power steering, trip computer, alloy wheels (including the spare), central locking, cupholders, etc. The rear seats fold in a 60/40 split to increase what is already a sizeable boot space.
It is finished in black metallic and looks really smart with the original 6 spoke alloy wheels. The bodywork is very clean and tidy except for a couple of small scuffs. Pictures to follow. It is powered by Mitsubishi's ground breaking GDI engine which gives outstanding fuel economy - the official figures are 34-56 mpg which is only just short of the diesel figures of 35-58 (but the diesel requires more frequent servicing thus obviating the fuel savings). It has 16 valves so you get sparkling performance and the direct injection provides the amazing fuel economy. The trip computer is currently showing an average of about 44 mpg.
