If there is one name synonymous with four wheel drive vehicles it just has to be Land Rover. They have dominated the serious off-road market for years and with the Freelander they have all but cornered the market in the so called ‘soft-roaders’.

And this is the one to have - namely the TD4 turbo diesel. The BMW sourced 2.2 litre common rail turbo diesel is one of the very best having an outstanding track record of reliability and good fuel economy for this class of vehicle. Official figures are 31 to 42 mpg. It is superb to drive feeling powerful but not heavy. It would be the ideal towing vehicle but this one has never had a tow bar fitted.

It is showing just 78,000 miles and has had 2 previous keepers. I bought it from a gentleman living nearby who had hung up his driving gloves. He had owned it since 2013. It has been regularly serviced and has 9 service stamps in the service portfolio.

It drives superbly and is very comfortable with a generous load area. All the equipment works correctly including the electric windows, aircon, remote locking (two keys) etc. The gearbox is a pleasure to use and it is has the hill descent mode for the controlled descent of steep hills. It also has twin sunroofs.

Outside the bodywork is very tidy. There are a couple of small scrapes which will be sorted soon. The 18” alloy wheels are unmarked. Inside it is in superb condition with no tears or wear to report. The leather upholstery is unmarked. The carpets are hardly worn at all having been been protected from new by fitted Freelander mats. See pics below.
